Lynsay Raine fluctuates between Northern Ireland and New Zealand. Having studied traditional metal smithing in Ireland followed by more contemporary methods in Auckland, Raine has found that this had lead to a unique outlook in her practice.
During a two year mentor ship under Peter Decker's HANDshake project, Raines' work was selected for Talente in Munich 2012. Raines' work is dictated by what interests her in particular moment in time, often choosing to work in series to build upon the concept. Dualistic ideas are often a starting point in Raines' practice. Life experiences of travel, working in a Museum and for the film industry are just some of the things that prompt and motivate Raine to keep using her jewellery practice as a means to communicate with the world.
Raine has exhibited in cities that include; London, Korea, Munich, Sydney, Auckland and Christchurch.
