Mike Crawford’s (Raukawa, Scottish, Pākeha) latest series for Repo, draws inspiration from wildlife found in wetlands across Aotearoa. After spending time with whanau in his local repo/wetland in Ōtepoti/ Dunedin, Crawford researched wetland fauna from across Aotearoa. The resulting mahi toi/ artworks are an abstraction of the original manu/birds and ika/fish into exquisite vessel forms that celebrate the wetland wildlife.
