Accumulate28 Sept - 24 Oct 2015 Preview Sunday 27 September 3-5pm, artist talk at 3:30.
An object, the material with which it is made; the equipment required to locate, extract and refine ores and raw materials; the iterations of methods, processes and machines that have perfected its function; the energy required to imagine and realize a problem and its solution; the decades, centuries, millennia through which it will travel, are all inherent in its form.’ – Isaac Katzoff, 2015.
This is Isaac Katzoff's first solo exhibition with Masterworks and showcases his interest in the everyday object. Items found in garages and tool sheds, often maligned or invisible but yet integral to making, fixing and building by hand. This latest series of work in glass reflects his interest in re-building cars and motorbikes, an interest with strong links to our broader DIY culture.
Isaac Katzoff emigrated from the USA in 2007, where he trained for a BFA and worked for several years as an assistant glass blower. He is co-director of Monmouth Glass Studio with fellow glass artist Stephen Bradbourne.
