Masterworks Gallery is proud to celebrate the start of its fifth decade specialising in contemporary craft/mahi toi from Aotearoa New Zealand and abroad with our opening exhibition, 40 Years–40 Things and 40 Pins.
In their new premises at Unit 4 / 2 Canada Street Street, just off K Rd in the Auckland CBD, Masterworks directors Christine Hedlund and Eloise Kitson – who took over from founders Annie Porter and Sara Sadd in 2009 – will be toasting this milestone on Saturday 8 August at 4pm.
As well as ceramics, glass, bronze, and textile works by 40 foundational and more recent artists, two pins apiece have been commissioned from 20 jewellery artists for the show.
Eloise and Christine, along with Gallery Manager Bronwyn Lloyd, continue to work to build enduring relationships with artists and clients alike. Their ongoing mission is to delight and educate audiences through a diverse and engaging programme of exhibitions focusing on excellence and innovation by contemporary makers from Aotearoa New Zealand and abroad.
