Raukatauri
Ngāti Maru artist Thomas Carroll explores the form and function of Pūtōrino in a series dedicated to the atua of Maori flute music, Hine Raukatauri. While holding true to the traditional understanding of the Pūtōrino making process, Thomas will be exploring the vast range of forms the Pūtōrino can take, both traditional and contemporary.
Thomas will be giving a public performance of the Pūtōrino on Saturday 20th July, 2pm. Come along to experience the instruments' beautiful sounds and learn about the process of the mahi from the artist. All welcome.
